Traffic Safety CITY, ages 6-11.
You have to see it to believe how effective this program is for elementary age children to understand how they are to behave walking/bicycling to and from school. The Traffic Safety CITY is the best methodology for teaching the abstract concept called "traffic". A 100% hands-on educational program where children practice traffic safety while walking on realistic sidewalks and crossing streets; in the safety of the multi-purpose room, auditorium or gym. Traffic streets scenarios/hazards plaguing your community are brought to the youth in a safe environment. Like a theatrical stage setting, using real photographs of their community, they are transported into their streets with familiar landmarks.
BLAST (Bike Lessons and Safety Training), ages 11-15
The award winning BLAST (Bike Lessons and Safety Training) Package includes the "The Bike Channel" DVD/Video with an introduction by the seven times Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong. BLAST DVD/Video and Tutorial Package has everything needed to conduct assembly programs followed by a hands-on bicycle skills course and introductory competition. This age group needs to learn bicycle handling skills along with traffic rules and laws. Every aspect of the program emphasies the correct use of a helmet. The DVD/Video "The Bike Channel", 28 minutes length covers correct riding, environmentally friendly commuting to school and the different aspects of the sport of bicycling.
"Who Wants to Live?" Game Show, ages 11-13
“Who Wants to Live?” a parity on the popular TV game show: “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” where youth interact as contestants answer over 50 fun questions related to pedestrian, bicycle scooter, skateboard, crossing guards, traffic safety, laws and rules. Any member of the audience may be called on to answer a question or ask the audience, keeping all students engaged. Easy to conduct and fun for game host (instructors) and tweens. The low cost fun program engages all participants to learn and want to answer the questions.
YES-BIKE High School Program, ages 13-18
YES-BIKE Program for secondary Physical Education Departments is a 3 to 4 week curriculum introducting the competitive “sport of bicycling”; bicycle traffic safety; encouraging bicycling to schools; being green and promoting a new youth fad. Secondary physical education professionals (Coaches) will be trained in sport appropriate physiology, kinesiology and skills building ideal for introducing bicycling, a life sport, to their students. YES, Inc. provides physical education professional training and low cost bicycle equipment. Bicycling can be as big the sport as football, baseball or basketball in schools. Invision parents and student gathering in the football stadium to watch their school bicycle team compete against a rival school. -This is not a dream, but a reality soon to be discovered.
Bicycling for Physically/Mentally Challenged, ages 9-18
YES, Inc. has adapted the Traffic Safety CITY and the BLAST programs to instruct children with mental and physical challenge to learn traffic safety concepts. We invite you to contact YES, Inc. with the functioning level of the children you wish to instruct so we can help you adapt the Traffic Safety CITY and the BLAST program to meet your needs. Plus we want to share what fun activities YES, Inc. has conducted for physically and mentally challenged youth beyond the programs with community involvement.
Youth Traffic Safety Class - Citation Diversion, ages 9-17
Youth Traffic Safety Class (YTSC) - Citation Diversion Program for youth traffic violators (non-vehicular) to satisfy the courts requirements with a 4 hour class. The violators are referred by the courts for youth ages 9-17 and the parent/guardian to attend the class. Youth are referred for bicycle, helmet, scooter, j-walking, pedestrian, skateboard, fare evasion and more violations. The class material includes the most common California Vehicle Code violations and local city municipal violations. YES, Inc. will provide training and annually updated materials.
