Events designed for the community to promote youth engaging in healthy activities with family and mentors. YES, Inc. also designs school activities to help promote the community events. At all events children participate for free and all benefit. Some events will offer special rates for YES Members. A special 'thank you" to one of our past sponsors, ACURA American Motors, for 12 years from 1996-2008 and over 6,000 YES Members riding for free in the ACURA LA Bike Tour. Everyone finished the rides, all 12 year, with a smile.
Metro Orange Line Ride - Walk/Bicycle - Youth Ride Free
YES, Inc. is helping to celebrate the new extension of the bicycle path along the Orange Line from Chatsworth to Woodland Hills a total of 20 miles from Chatsworth to Valley College. Be the first to ride the new bicycle path. To celebrate YES is organizing a Family Bicycle Ride on opening day in the Spring of 2012.
YES-Kaiser Permanente THRIVE Walk/Ride
The YES-Kaiser Permanente THRIVE Walk/Ride event encourages youth and families to ride/walk/scooter/stroller in the FREE fun events. All participating adults must register with a youth to participate in ride/walk/stroller events. Youth ages 1-14 must be with a participating adult. Youth ages 15-17 may ride on their own but with parent permission. All participants will receive a raffle ticket for bicycles, helmets and other prizes awarded afterwards at Councilman Tony Cardenas Community Health and Safety Fair in the Japanese Garden parking lot. And all participants will receive free admission to The Japanese Garden.
LACBC LA River Ride - Youth Ride Free
The annual LACBC LA River Ride takes bicyclist of all ages along the LA River starting in Griffith Park and the longest ride to Long Beach and back. Children age 12 and under may ride for FREE with an adult.
